For any friend that reads this- shuddupppp... I'm trying, here 🙃

For anyone that doesn't know me, I am:

The friend that is lied to about what time to be ready by because I'm always late.

The girlfriend referred to as the "hot mess" or "tornado" whenever visiting the apartment.

The daughter that is asked 400 times by her parents, "Did you remember everything?" & having to turn my car around, because yup, I forgot something.

Choosing to write this guide, in a way, I'm hoping to help myself become a little bit more organized in the upcoming year. Let's not go crazy now. This is no article that is trying to turn a scattered brain into a Type A person, but I'm here to give suggestions on how to declutter and better organize yourself and minimize chaos throughout your day.

Anyway, here are 4 tips on how to better manage/adjust your life:

Organize Your Space

Working from home, if you have ever had to angle your computer to the one part of a room that looks tidy when on a Zoom call, this is your sign that it's time to organize/clean up your space. Speaking for myself, without having an organized space, I've always found myself somewhat distracted. Overall, waking up to a tidy home genuinely makes me feel more focused for the day ahead.

Create A List

Although, I'd like to think that I am the smartest person on the planet and therefore I have the capacity to memorize every appointment, meeting, or due date over a month’s span..... I am not. My advice to you is to just write it down. Create a list the work you have to get done for the day. Schedule a reminder on your phone of that doctor's appointment you have in two weeks. Or try out sticky notes for little to-do reminders.

Build A Routine

Especially during the pandemic, people have seemed to lose their daily routines. Why get up at 5 am to go to the gym before work when you can wake up at 8:30 am right before your day starts from home? Why change out of your pajamas? This list could go on but what I've noticed from falling out of my own daily routine was how easy it is to become lazy and unorganized. I definitely found myself saying, "I'll do it tomorrow" and the next day would come around, and I didn't complete anything I wanted to do. It's important to get back on track and get that schedule back into motion. Wake up and go for that run before your workday, after the week is over, you'll 100% be proud of what you accomplished and overall a happier person.

Plan Ahead

I definitely do not plan ahead for anything, which is why this point is probably the hardest for me to write about. What I can tell you though is that going through life with no plans and doing everything last minute or on a whim can be nerve-wracking when it comes to something serious or important. Moving forward, trying to plan things ahead even if it's just picking out your outfit the night before could really help bring down the chaos a couple of notches.

I'm only giving out these small tips because again, I want this to be reasonable. I know I'll never be the most organized person but I hope this list can help someone gain a sprinkling of structure to their life. :)

xoxo,

Han
