For this post, I asked my friends about their hair products and what they're currently lovin' the most. We all have different hair types, so this is a great way for trying out new brands based upon the hair type you relate to the most with your own locks.
Han
Color: Ashy Medium Brunette
Texture: Not straight but not wavy. Something in-between. Also, very thick...lucky me..
Favorite Products
Hask Argon Oil: "I’m in love with this product!! This brand has a bunch of different argon oils but right now I’m using the Hask's Keratin Protein version. I always run this product through my hair after showers and can feel it hydrating my ~thirsty~ hair; makes it super shiny and soft, too. If I was deserted on an island and could only bring one thing: it would be this oil. Oh, and the small vial is only $2.99 and lasts me months."
Living Proof Anti Frizz Cream & Spray: "Without de-frizzing products, I would be referring to my hair as a fuzzball during the summer months. I use the cream after I curl my hair and smothering it in hairspray to make it feel soft again ; then I use the instant de-frizzer spray. The product makes my hair smell amazing (like that salon aroma) and calms all flyaways."

Color: Balayaged Blonde
Texture: Straight
Favorite Products
Tigi Catwalk Fashionista Violet Shampoo & Conditioner: "Since I have naturally lighter hair but blonde balayage, I like to use purple shampoo to make sure it doesn’t get brassy and yellow. The purple shampoo I am currently loving is Tigi Catwalk Fashionista Violet Shampoo & Conditioner. They are both big bottles that last a long time, so for around $20 for the set I think it is a good deal! I try to use the purple shampoo whenever I am shaving in the shower so that it will stay in for at like 5 minutes at least once a week. Once my hair is dry I definitely notice that my hair looks brighter."
Pantene Pro-V: "When I don’t use purple shampoo I use Pantene Pro-V which is about $4 per bottle. I love how silky and hydrated my hair feels after using this, and it is affordable."
Hel
Color: medium brown with caramel balayage
Texture: Wavy but more on the curlier side. Medium volume.
Favorite Products
Moroccan Oil Treatment Original: "I’m more of a low maintenance kind of gal when it comes to my beauty routine and my favorite products definitely reflect that. My first fave is the Moroccan oil Treatment Original by the brand Moroccanoil. Now I know everybody and their mother has used this product at some point, but how is another blog post raving about it gonna hurt anyone? It’s extremely easy to apply, I just put it on my ends after the shower so they don’t get scraggly and dried out. I apply a dime sized amount and that is enough to cover my ends, and then some. I stick to the ends because it can get too oily for my hair if I go to my roots. The best part about this is, I use it as needed (a few times a week) so the $44, 100ml bottle lasts me about a year."
Brass Off Total Results by Matrix: "My second product is the Brass Off Total Results by Matrix. I love this product because as I mentioned, I color my hair and it tends to get brassy about a month into my treatment. My hairdresser recommended it to me, and boy does it work. I use it every other wash and it keeps my color tone for months. AND It’s only $14 at Ulta."
Anna (Annie)
Color: Medium Brown
Texture: Very, very straight
Favorite Products
My hair is long, pretty thick but fine, and unyieldingly straight. This means it gets easily weighed down by products. Here’s what I use for a low-maintenance routine that allows me to wear my hair natural and still have volume:
Nexxus Hydra-Light Weightless Moisture Shampoo: "This shampoo gives you that perfect light, clean, fresh out of the shower feeling. It refreshes your scalp and leaves no residue, so your hair can air-dry without sticking to your scalp."
Nexxus Humectress Ultimate Moisture Conditioner: "I like to use a tiiiiny amount of Nexxus Humectress Ultimate Moisture conditioner on my ends. A little bit goes a long way towards restoring shine, and doesn’t drag down your hair."
Nexxus Promend Split End Binding Leave in Creme: "I leave my my hair long and get it cut about once every six months. Cue split ends. To deal with them I use this product once every couple of weeks, and it solves all my problems. It’s a little bit of an investment at $39.99, but the 4.8 fl oz bottle will last you all year. Compared to a trip to the hairdresser’s every other month, consider it a steal."
Mol
Color: Brown Hair with Blonde Highlights
Texture: Naturally Straigt but does a little swoosh which annoys me so I usually straighten it
Favorite Products
Viola from Eric Alt Salon: "I use dove shampoo which I love. Since I have blonde highlights I also use a purple shampoo called Viola once a week which is from Eric Alt Salon. Using that helps brighten my highlights."
Ellevate from Eric Alt Salon: "As for my conditioner, it is also from Eric Alt Salon. It is called Elevate and it adds volume and shine to my flat hair. My hair gets greasy quick so I don’t use much and I just put it on my ends. Sometimes I don’t even use conditioner, and my hair will still be silky smooth."
Gab
Color: Auburn-Red?
Texture: super curly, like woah
Favorite Products
Cantu Coconut Cu: "This is my everyday oil that I put into my hair. Besides the fact that it leaves my hair super shiny and keeps the bounce in my curls, it can also be used in the kitchen... to cook with. Bonus, I guess?."
Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother: "Once a week I use smoothener to make up for using cooking oil the other 6 days a week. It restores my hair along with making it super shiny."
Kear
Color: Brown with natural sun highlights
Texture: Curly but not like woah that girl has curly hair curly
Favorite Products (we have a plot twist here)
Shower Routine: "I don’t brush it because that causes poof. When I get out of the shower I run my fingers through it getting rid of all knots. I use whatever shampoo I pick out but I always like to keep the ocean breeze scent."
Ocean Salt Water: "I love my hair straight out of the Atlantic Ocean. I feel like the salt water is a great source of vitamin and it really gives my hair a lot of volume. In fact, I think the day of my wedding I’ll wake up early go for an ocean swim and that’ll be my hair for the day!"
...maybe for Kear's fave, scoop up some ocean water in a bottle to chuck on your hair? I'm not sure.
Thanks to all of my friends for participating in this post!
For all who have read this post, I hope you've found a new product you'd like to try!
